At the Utica Children’s Museum, we believe learning happens best when kids are having fun, and our Let’s Experiment gallery is the perfect place to prove it! This hands-on space is all about discovery, tinkering, testing, and exploring what happens when you change things up.
Children become the scientists and inventors of their own adventures as they explore how forces, motion and cause-and-effect work in real life, all while having an absolute blast! Whether they’re building, racing, shining or creating, every activity inspires curiosity and confidence.

Prism and Light Play
A glowing wall of color and creativity! Use prisms, filters and lights to “paint” with light and color, discovering the beauty and science of refraction and reflection.
Racecars and Racetracks
Ready, set, race! Design and build your own racecars, then test them on two awesome tracks: one powered by gravity and one by wind. It’s a fun, fast way to explore mass, motion, gravity and propulsion.
Animation Station
Bring your imagination to life! Create and record your very own stop-motion animations using a mix of materials, backdrops and sounds. Kids learn storytelling, sequencing and creativity while watching their ideas move — literally!
Magnetic Ball Fall
How fast can your ball go? Build and test different paths on our giant magnetic wall. It’s an open-ended challenge in design, motion and problem-solving that keeps kids coming back for “just one more try!”

Every exhibit in Let’s Experiment connects to the world of STEAM — Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.
