Spooky Stem Explorers
Presented by Andro and Project Fibonacci Foundation Inc.
For curious minds and creative hands, this program will feature exciting experiments that bring science, technology, engineering and math to life in fun and interactive ways. Each week features a new challenge designed to spark curiosity and problem-solving skills. Run by museum educators, kids will learn, tinker and create!

Monster Hands - Week 1
Kids will create a movable “monster hand” using straws, string, and cardboard. As their creepy hand comes to life, they’ll explore how engineers mimic bones and tendons to design moving parts.

Light-Up Haunted House Circuits - Week 2
Explore electricity by creating a mini haunted house scene that lights up! Kids will wire simple circuits to make windows glow, ghosts flash, or pumpkins light up. While adding eerie effects with open/closed circuits.

Ghost Ships That Float - Week 3
Set sail with spooky engineering! Kids will design and test “ghost ships” or “pumpkin boats” made from recycled and natural materials. They’ll experiment with balance and buoyancy to see whose ghostly vessel floats the best in our water test.

Egg Drop Engineering - Week 4
Classic engineering challenge: kids design protective carriers to keep an egg safe from a drop. Focus on shock absorption and creative problem-solving.

Camera Obscura - Week 5
Travel back in time with one of the earliest inventions leading to photography. Kids will build their own camera obscura, learning how light travels and how images are formed.

Coding with a Makey Makey - Week 6
Get ready to turn ordinary objects into keyboards and controllers! Kids will learn the basics of coding and circuits while connecting Makey Makeys to bananas, playdough, and other surprising items to create music and games.
